Hi all!

Today I can share a special project I worked on, which is the first legitimate piece of criticism that somebody else put on the Internet for me! Cory Barker was kind enough to let me write on the pilot of one of my favorite shows, Homicide: Life on the Street, for his Test Pilot feature about the modern police drama, on his TV Surveillance site.

Please read my thoughts about the pilot of Homicide as well as Cory's great piece about it here.

Once I get back into the swing of things, if there seems to be a good reaction to the Homicide piece, I might even start reviewing that show here! Stay tuned. EDIT: Though you'd be better served by The A.V. Club's reviews, which will hopefully return soon.

Many thanks to Cory for this opportunity! I was honored to be able to join some established, professional critics as well as my Twitter friends, and I appreciated the forum in sharing my thoughts about not only the pilot but how important the series was, particularly in terms of That Greatest Show, The Wire.
